The Diriyah Tunnel, located along the western ring road, is one of the most remarkable engineering projects connecting Riyadh City with the historic Diriyah area.
Extending 435 meters in length and featuring 8 lanes, it accommodates the flow of over 10,280 vehicles per hour, significantly enhancing traffic efficiency and improving access to cultural and tourist landmarks such as Al-Turaif District, Al-Bujairi Terrace, and Bab Samhan Hotel.
The tunnel was constructed using advanced technologies and in coordination with multiple governmental entities, forming a strategic link between the Diriyah 1 and Diriyah 2 projects, as well as the capital, Riyadh.
It is part of a multi-level tunnel network that showcases the Kingdom’s engineering progress in infrastructure design.
From an aesthetic perspective, a vast urban park—one of the largest in Saudi Arabia—will be developed above the tunnel, extending from Historic Diriyah through King Salman Boulevard all the way to King Saud University.
This urban corridor will offer a unique visual and cultural experience, blending heritage with modernity through intelligent urban design.
The project stands as a living embodiment of Saudi Vision 2030, enhancing national identity, promoting tourism development, improving quality of life, and positioning Diriyah as a global cultural landmark.
